The Pre-Award Team assists investigators with funding source identification, proposal development, and proposal submission to sponsors. The team also helps investigators understand and complete pre-award requirements, including conflict of interest disclosures and training, subrecipient identification and budgeting, human subjects and animal research considerations, faculty release time or additional compensation budgeting, international collaboration issues, and other pre-award-related matters. If funding is awarded, the team also assists with award approvals and sponsor requirements.

Proposal Routing and Submission Requirements
Important: All proposals must be routed to ORSP for institutional review and approval prior to submission to a sponsor. ORSP is the only office with delegated authority to submit proposals on behalf of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ and the East Bay Foundation. Proposals submitted outside of ORSP may be rejected by the sponsor and may not be recognized by the university.
To ensure adequate time for review and institutional approvals, proposals should be initiated and routed in Cayuse at least 30 days prior to the sponsor’s deadline.
All proposals must be routed through Cayuse, the university’s system of record for proposal routing, review, approval, and submission.
As a first step, CSUEB Principal Investigators planning to submit a proposal for an upcoming deadline should review instructions for how to start a proposal in Cayuse.
