April 12th 9:30a-12:10p: "Consideraciones al trabajar como terapeuta del habla y lenguaje con la comunidad hispanohablante."  This course is presented by Rosa Hurtado, M.S. CCC-SLP (Hayward Unified School District) and Lane Entrekin M.S., CCC-SLP (Zuckerberg SF General Hospital) and will be entirely in Spanish. Please see flyer for more information.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL CURSO
Los terapeutas de habla y lenguaje que ofrecen servicios en español enfrentan varios desafíos al momento de servir a la comunidad hispanohablante. Estos desafíos pueden empezar desde la falta de familiaridad con la variación que existe entre vocabulario, costumbres, y prácticas entre las comunidades hispanas. Desafíos que pueden crecer aún más al momento que nos recordamos la situación en donde se encuentran estas familias. Por ejemplo, quizás aún no saben cuales son las expectativas sociales e/o culturales, etc. El objetivo de esta presentación es ayudarte a familiarizarte con estos conceptos e invitarte a que sigas leyendo sobre estos temas.
